1st Property Finder, 2nd Bayut, 3rd Just Property
Another quarter finished so it’s time to check how are the main property portals in Dubai performing. As usually it’s an estimation by Similarweb from July 2018 to September 2018:
No big news on top with Property Finder leading the ranking. They’ve just spent tons of money in rebranding and a new branding campaign, which from the creative side I’d say is pretty good.
Second we have Bayut, the contender, who has consolidated their position clearly above Just Property. I noticed not far ago that they have a really fast site, specially when loading the product pages. Not sure how they do it, but pretty good job from their tech team.
By the way, why not compare the site speed too? Let’s check GTMetrix for the home pages:
Finally we have a new addition to the ranking: MyVilla. They are investing in PPC for traffic generation, but they still have a long way to go. The property portals market in Dubai might not be so sophisticated as in Europe or US, but even so it’s pretty hard for new players to get in. A heavy investment in marketing is needed to take a piece of the cake…
And we know that Dubizzle is still there, but unfortunately is not possible to isolate the traffic data for their property section. What we can do is check their organic rankings in Google comparing with the main portals, since most likely that’s one of the main traffic sources for all of them:
So we can see how for searches like “villas for sale in arabian ranches”, those which are closer for conversion, Property Finder still dominates the SERPs. But on city level keywords like “apartments for sale in dubai”, there is more competition with Dubizzle surely getting traffic from search.
That’s all for now!
